
In Eppegem (Zemst), we replaced an old boiler with a Buderus air-to-water heat pump — heating the home in winter and cooling it in summer.
The context
The customer wanted to switch to renewable, efficient heating with more comfort. We replaced the existing boiler with an air-to-water heat pump, keeping the radiators. The project was carried out in Eppegem (Zemst).
The installed solution
- ✅ Buderus WLW176i air-to-water heat pump (monobloc, natural R290 refrigerant, very quiet SILENT Plus technology).
- ✅ Logalux P120.5 buffer tank (120 L): it ensures enough water volume so the heat pump always has sufficient flow to heat — preventing too-frequent start/stops (bad for the unit) — and can also store energy. We size it to the installation.
- ✅ Buderus pump group for the radiators.
- ✅ Control via My Buderus: remote operation and consumption monitoring.
Bonus: cooling in summer
The WLW176i is reversible: it can also cool gently in summer. One system to heat in winter and cool in summer.
